What’s The Weather In Poland?

12 June - 16 June 2017
conceived by Marcello Smarrelli and Ania Jagiello

The Polish Institute of Rome and Fondazione Pastificio Cerere are pleased to present What’s the Weather in Poland?: two meetings, dedicated to the young contemporary art scene in Poland, will take place on the 12th and 16th of June 2017 from 6pm to 10pm.

Curated by Marcello Smarrelli, artistic director of Fondazione Pastificio Cerere and by Ania Jagiello, head of the contemporary art program at the Polish Institute, the project aims to capture the latest Polish art scene through the research of four young Italian curators: Simone Ciglia, Alessandra Troncone, Marco Trulli and Saverio Verini.

During a study trip to Poland, the curators visited the cities of Bytom, Krakow, Warsaw and Lodz where they were directly in touch with the contemporary art scene in the country. Subsequently they selected four Polish artists who will be the protagonists of the meetings at the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere: Alicja Bielawska, Cezary Poniatowski, Dominik Ritszel and Jakub Woynarowski.

The talks will be followed by a dj set in the courtyard of Pastificio Cerere.

What’s the weather in Poland? is part of “Corso Polonia 2017”, the Polish Culture Festival in Rome, under the framework of the Year of the Vistula.
