Savage Architecture: Open Archive

08 April - 07 May 2022
Curated by ADS10. As part of The Archive Project

Savage Architecture: Open Archive, a group exhibition curated by ADS10 and first event of The Archive Project, a programme of exhibitions curated by CAMPO.

The exhibition extends along the spaces of the Silos and will be open to the public from Saturday April 9 to Saturday May 7. The research work will be organized in two parts: an installation realized through a series of models with drawings, images and videos, and a book-archive that represents an atlas of ADS10′s work.

ADS10 explores and documents rituals of exchange and production of knowledge that take place in the urban landscape in order to propose forms that can accommodate and celebrate the presence of these emerging activities in the city. Therefore, the project is not so much the solution to a given problem as the definition of a field of ideas, meanings and relations that find their representation within the public sphere through architectural form. Architecture is indeed both the form of production and the result of collective knowledge and at the same time the material and symbolic base of an anthropological necessity, namely to stage rituals and collective actions that express the savage power of being human together.

Savage Architecture: Open Archive is a journey at the root of architecture, an investigation that questions the relationship with man and the built environment in order to restore meaning and method to the practice of architecture and assess whether it is still a tool capable of challenging the norms and behaviours imposed by the contemporary condition.

The exhibition will present the research work in two parts; an installation created through a series of models featuring drawings, images and videos, and a book-archive representing an atlas of ADS10‘s work.
