Rob Carter: Reclaim

22 October - 20 November 2008
curated by Lorenzo Benedetti

For his first solo exhibition in Italy, Rob Carter presents at Pastificio Cerere Foundation a series of photographs and animations. The production of Rob Carter (born in Worcester, lives and work in Brooklin) is based on the paper examination as a physical object and a image of reality through a audio-visual and photographic medium. Through the collage and animation techniques the artist uses architectural elements to rebuild new landscape situations. The collage technique allows Carter to produce simulations of the urban landscape temporal alterations. In particular, Carter examines several architectural typologies such as stadiums, football grounds, showing their evolution and transformation into a Mega Architectures. Carter’s work is based on the illusion of the twodimensional image, whose animated alteration in the videos generates a continuous construction of new scenarios.
