Riccardo Benassi has presented a new sound performance at the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere in his first exhibition in Rome. To complement the performance, there were on display a listening station created thanks to a reinterpretation of piano benches. These benches have been transformed into a new object destined to facilitate the capturing of sound signals for the collective audience. The project, no, no place to sit is an environmental installation originally commissioned in 2009 by Alberto Salvadori for the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Arezzo (for the exhibition Sensibili energie on view through February 28th 2010). On the evening of the performance, the artist has also presented a CD produced by the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere that contains the original installation soundscape for Arezzo. This limited edition CD, a production of 365 copies, 100 of which are signed and numbered, is a theoretical and visual continuation of the initial research.
