Organized by The Gallery Apart and thanks to the hospitality of the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, the exhibit brings Myriam Laplante back to Rome after a period abroad participating in some of the most important festivals and events dedicated to performance art.Often, tormenting desires from the past are tangled with the memory.
In the exhibit, the artist totally alters the exhibition space with an oneiric video installation that investigates hammering and remote obsessions. The setting is the “Il Castello” motel, a place that is old and lived-in. The rooms are saturated with memories and dreams and some moments suspended in time that come back to life. During the show opening, Myriam Laplante partecipated in the resurrection of those captive ghosts.
