On Thursday 30 January 2025, Fondazione Pastificio Cerere is presenting LA PROMESSA DEL VUOTO (THE PROMISE OF THE VOID), a solo exhibition by Giovanni Termini curated by Simone Ciglia.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Friday 31 January to Saturday 29 March 2025.
Termini’s research focuses on the interaction between materials and space and is formally presented with installations that challenge balances, tensions and forces. His poetics is inspired by imagery close to the context of construction, factories, and building sites. Using innocent pipes, parapets, platforms, stairs, concrete dividers, and carpentry reinforcements, he makes the ordinary ambiguous and alters the perception of exhibition spaces. The works reuse and re-elaborate objects taken from reality. His work is firmly situated in a space that is projected into the temporal dimension, open to the process that dictates its materials, and nourished – according to the artist himself – “precisely by the conflicts that he tries to quell, to no avail.”
For his solo exhibition at Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, Giovanni Termini proposes to reflect on his relationship with the city of Rome. The exhibition presents a series of new works conceived for the occasion together with a selection of recent works.
