Carmelo Baglivo: Disegni corsari

12 November - 22 November 2013
curated by Emilia Giorgi

On Tuesday November 12th, 2013 the exhibition Carmelo Baglivo. Disegni corsari, curated by Emilia Giorgi will be inaugurated at the “Pastificio Cerere” Foundation in Rome. The exhibition is the first opportunity for the public to view the wide-range of drawings and collages that the architect Carmelo Baglivo of the IaN+ studio has produced during the course of his career. The exhibition reflects a specific interest in architecture on the part of the Foundation, an important educational organization which encourages cultural proposals involving contemporary art in constant dialogue with other disciplines. It will be inaugurated with a conversation between the artist and Gian Piero Frassinelli, the founder of the radical group Superstudio, and Luca Molinari, a critic and curator active in the field of architecture.

Baglivo states that Disegni corsari is “a clear homage to those writings of Pasolini in which the reader has the task of restoring order to the fragments of a work that is dispersed and incomplete. In the same way my drawings refer to architecture through autonomous images that are outside of history, waiting for the viewers to construct their own personal pathways”.
