• hour interview
For the fourth Pastificio_lab appointment, sguardo contemporaneo presented the project hour interview, intended to promote an alternative and more direct dialogue with artists. This ongoing project, conceived by Mauro Piccinini, is based on the collection of interviews with artists working in the Rome area: the interview aims to reveal an artist’s “standard day,” inviting him/her to fill out a “form” divided into twenty-four hours. To accompany the forms, Piccinini realized a series of short videos, portraits of the artists in their places of work: an experiment that, by allowing the interviewer’s first-person questioning to recede into the background and so giving space to the artist’s creative process, offers a different angle on the practice of the interview in contemporary art. The three video-interviews with Davide D’Elia, Andrea Aquilanti and Marco Bernardi were screened here for the first time.
• PORTFOLIO. For a database in progress
On the occasion of Pastificio_lab#4, sguardo contemporaneo also launched an open call to artists working in Rome and in Lazio, inviting them to share their digital portfolio for the creation of an online archive, the starting point for a regional database.
