pastificio_lab #1

18 July 2012
curated by sguardo contemporaneo

pastificio_lab was conceived by Marcello Smarrelli, artistic director of the Pastificio Cerere Foundation, with the aim of establishing a cultural platform for the development of diverse initiatives, all geared toward involving an increasingly heterogeneous public. With pastificio_lab, the Pastificio Cerere Foundation aims to attract a young audience, particularly the university students who populate San Lorenzo, the neighborhood in which the Pastificio is situated, and which has a longstanding history of cultural and social ferment. The development of the initial pastificio_lab events was entrusted to sguardo contemporaneo, a curatorial platform whose members established a program characterized by multidisciplinarity, the key word of this project.

• AIPS – ARCHIVIO ITALIANO PAESAGGI SONORI

The first pastificio_lab event presented a selection of works by AIPS – Archivio Italiano Paesaggi Sonori. The aim of AIPS is to promote the culture of soundscapes through the productions of Italian performers and musicians whose work is grounded in the creation of audiovisual art installations—often performed live—relating to the concept of soundscape composition. The exhibition format, conceived specifically for this occasion, offered a panoramic overview of the artists in the collective: Alessio Ballerini, Alberto Boccardi, Enrico Coniglio, Giuseppe Cordare, Barbara De Dominicis, Francesco Giannico, Giovanni Lami, Attilio Novellino, Fabio Perletta, Pietro Riparbelli. In addition, over the course of the event, Alessio Ballerini and Francesco Giannico executed a live electroacoustic performance, devised to interact with the installations present within the space.
